VIRTUAL VSAUCE VIDEOGRAPHY
A downloadable game for Windows
Hey, Vsause fans! Benjamin here. Do you love the mind-bending, thought-provoking, laugh-inducing Vsauce YouTube channel as much as I do? Most likely the answer to that question is yes, as Micheal Stevens has touched the hearts and minds of 20 million subscribers and an estimated 3+ billion combined viewers. As a strange tribute of sorts I decided to focus one of my last university projects on the myth and legend himself, collecting and showcasing a range of data on the 100 most recent Vsauce videos (not including MindField, although I do love me some MindField). And as always, thanks for reading.
- Stunning 3D Visuals: Utilizing Unreal Engine 5 to it's full potential with real-time reflections, high-resolutions models and textures and gorgeous lighting allows you to immerse yourself in a world of green gooey Vsauce!
- Fun Physics Mayhem: Grab, throw, and play with a range of physics objects in the museum, from books cataloging each video to geometric shapes with that iconic 🤨. Gravity not always enabled or included.
- Moon Men: Using the power of YouTube to mp3 "VVV" contains a selection of some of the most iconic tracks by Jack Chudnow that are used throughout all the classic videos. Go up to the music player and interact with it to change to the next track!
- Data Visualization: As this project was really meant to be about visualizing data using Unreal Engine, you can find a selection of the 100 most recent Vsauce videos as books at the center of the museum. Each book contains the most relevant and important data relating to the video, such as the thumbnail, title, view count, upload date, and number of likes. Use this information as you see fit! As a bonus top tip, you can press [E] while looking at any book and it will link you to the corresponding YouTube video.
- Sorting Data: By pressing [1] on your keyboard you can spawn a sorted array of the data books, arranged from lowest to highest number of views. The smaller the number of views, the larger the size of the book. These lower view count videos deserve more exposure!
- Vsauce Facts That Are Fun: Along the back wall of the museum you can find a wall containing a range of fun Vsauce facts you might not have known!
